This six‑month program builds solid Mandarin language foundation tailored to international learners. Students strengthen everyday conversation and practical reading/writing skills while engaging with Chinese culture on campus. Learners benefit from small‑group instruction, cultural practice sessions, and access to university facilities. Graduates of the program often feel more confident in communication and better prepared for future study, travel, or work in China or other Mandarin‑speaking environments. For many, this course serves as a stepping stone to higher education or careers that involve cross‑cultural connections and language use.
Eligibility:
Non‑Chinese citizens with a valid passport
Completed high school or equivalent
Good physical health and respect for Chinese laws
Application materials typically include passport copy, health certificate, photos, and academic transcripts
International students with a valid study visa may apply for on‑campus part‑time roles (limited to ~20 hrs/week during semesters) subject to university and visa rules
Because the main instruction is in Chinese, proof of Chinese language ability is often requested:
HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test): Level 2–3 or above for some learners; beginners can start with no formal qualification and take a placement test.
For administrative purposes, basic English may be helpful for application communication, but wording classes are in Mandarin.
