Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Course Overview

The MBA has grown steadily over more than two decades, forming a solid foundation in management education within Swansea Business School. Milestones include high UK rankings in student satisfaction and teaching quality in the 2024 National Student Survey . It offers skill-based learning across finance, marketing, strategy and international business built on real-world cases and applied projects. Major accomplishments include preparing graduates for leadership roles in private, public and nonprofit sectors locally and abroad, with many progressing in international careers . The MBA’s global impact comes from its international student cohort, flexible delivery modes, and a values-centred approach equipping students to manage growth ethically and sustainably. General Eligibility

• Applicants must be over 21 years old and hold a recognized honours degree (minimum 2:2) or equivalent, or a relevant professional/business qualification. Those aged 25+ without formal qualifications may be considered on professional/managerial experience through UWTSD’s prior experiential learning assessment .

• Scholarships and bursaries are available; details listed on UWTSD’s bursaries and scholarships page. Application requires submission of transcripts, personal statement, references, and proof of English. Some may apply via PGCert route if academic gap exists

Part Time Work Details

Students on part-time or online may work while studying; full-time campus-based international students require permission for work visas and must meet UK rules limiting hours (e.g. 20 hrs/week during term). Guidance on this is given at enrolment.

Language Requirement

• Accepted tests and minimum scores:

  • IELTS Academic: overall 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component 

  • Equivalent minimum scores accepted in TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo (typically TOEFL ≈ 72, PTE 56–59, Duolingo equivalent – refer official international entry guidance)
