Course Overview

The BA (Hons) Sociology program at LJMU is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of societal structures and issues. General Eligibility

• UCAS Tariff Points: 104 points, typically from A-levels or equivalent qualifications.

• Application Process: Apply through UCAS by January 31.

• Scholarships: Self-funded international students are eligible for an automatic scholarship worth up to £4,000.

Part Time Work Details

International students may work up to 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during vacations, subject to visa conditions.

Language Requirement

• Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency through one of the following accepted tests:

  • IELTS: Overall score of 6.0 with no component below 5.5

  • TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 80 with no component below 17

  • PTE Academic: Overall score of 50 with no component below 42

  • Duolingo English Test: Minimum score of 100
