Diploma Program Early Childhood Education

The Diploma Program in Early Childhood Education at Cambrian College is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of early childhood education. The program focuses on the developmental needs of young children from birth to age 8, and covers topics such as curriculum planning, assessment and evaluation, classroom management, and family partnerships. Students will learn how to create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Graduates of the program will be prepared to work in a variety of early childhood settings, including daycares, preschools, and kindergartens.

Additional Information

The program consists of 40 credits of coursework, including practicum experiences where students can apply their knowledge and skills in real-world settings. Students will also have the opportunity to specialize in areas such as Special Education or Aboriginal Education. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be eligible to write the Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certification exam.
