At the heart of this course is the idea that future lawyers will need to have knowledge of national, European, and international laws and institutions. This degree is primarily for LLB students who also wish to study politics during their degree. Serving as the first stage in your legal training, the LLB will enable you to complete the academic stage of a solicitor or barrister training, studying all the key legal principles, doctrines, and legal institutions that constitute the foundations of legal knowledge. You will also gain the additional advantage of a specialism in politics, political analysis, and strategic political communications, further enhancing your understanding of the role and application of the law. Our campus-based Pro-Bono Law Clinic provides you with practical experience in delivering legal advice under the supervision of solicitors or barristers. You will also be able to join the student Law Society, get involved in competitions, and attend networking events both on and off campus.
