Students wanting to study a combination of Media Studies and English Literature will develop skills and techniques to produce audio-visual material as well as essential key skills for many of the creative industries. You will study a range of literature from the medieval to the contemporary, while developing your individual interests. This course will equip you with a solid understanding in the theoretical, technical and practical skills making you a sought-after professional in these fields.
In your time with us, you will become adept at conducting research. In modules that touch on such topics as the history of film and documentary, journalism literary theory, and news media, you will also develop skills related to editing, blogging, and publishing.
In your English Literature modules, you will encounter a range of literature genres from different points in history, starting in the Middle Ages and moving right the way through to the contemporary moment. You will analyse poetry, prose, drama, and the novel, amongst other literary forms. Within Media Studies, you will have the opportunity to study a range of different aspects of journalism, film and media production that will provide you with opportunities to develop and explore your own interests, and make use of well-equipped studios that will provide you with practical as well as theoretical knowledge.

If you do not meet the English Language requirements to enter the International Incorporated Bachelors or the International Incorporated Masters, BUIC offers you a range of Pre-sessional English Programmes which you can take before you start these courses.
If you have an IELTS of 5.0 (with no component below 4.5), you will be offered a 6-week Pre-sessional English course immediately preceding your entry to the IYZ.
If you have an IELTS of 4.5 (with no component below 4.0), you will be offered a 12-week Pre-Sessional English course immediately preceding your entry to the IYZ.
