This challenging and rewarding pre-registration programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and competencies required for a successful career in operating department practice. Students will learn how to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care within the operating department environment. The course covers a wide range of topics including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology, as well as specialist subjects such as airway management, pain management, and critical care. Our experienced lecturers will provide students with the opportunity to learn through a combination of theoretical and practical sessions, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in our state-of-the-art facilities. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an operating department practitioner.
