Electronics and computers are all around us, and developments in both can significantly impact our daily lives. Invisible computers help operate standard equipment like supermarket scanners, central heating timers, car management systems, and larger systems such as diagnostic equipment used in hospitals, broadband, and satellites. This STEM course has been designed to help you understand how electronics and computers work together and could help you gain a job at the forefront of technological developments to meet the ever-increasing demand for new sustainable solutions to improve society and everyday life. The course aims to develop your understanding of Computer systems architectures Networks Internet of Things (IoT) Embedded systems IoT is a network of physical objects (devices, vehicles, buildings, etc.) embedded with electronics, software, and sensors, enabling them to collect and exchange data. Look at software and hardware and how they are designed for embedded systems. And youll have the chance to understand the principles of electronic engineering and develop the skills to be able to work in a wide range of industries.
Entry requirements
BBB-BBCat A Level. A Level must include Mathematics and at least one other suitable Science/Technology subject as listed in Additional Information.
120-112UCAS tariff points from a combination of Level 3 qualifications must include the accepted qualifications listed in Additional Information.
DDM-DMMin BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering. DDM-DMM in BTEC Science/Technology Level 3 Extended Diploma is also acceptable with A Level Mathematics at least at Grade C. See Additional Information for further details of what is accepted.
Access to Higher Education Diploma with 45 Level 3 credits at Merit or above in a relevant Science/Technology subject as listed in Additional Information.
