Electronic and Communication Engineering (Top-up) is designed for people who have already spent two years studying a related subject at a university or higher education level. For instance, you might already have an Electronics and Communication Engineering HND. If you're interested in just technology and how technology is managed and applied, then this course could be for you. Unlike our other Electronic and Electrical Engineering courses, the Top-Up route is not directly accredited by the IET, although graduates may subsequently apply for professional registration with the IET.
Entry requirements for this course are considered on an individual basis and usually are one of the following:
HND at Merit, or equivalent, in a Science/Engineering/Technology subject.
Foundation Degree in a Science/Engineering/Technology subject.
Completion of two years of a Degree course in a related Science/Engineering/Technology subject.
Your previous studies should be in a physics or engineering science-related area. Other sciences may not be accepted as they may not contain the relevant mathematical components that are an essential requirement for this course.
20 Hours of work permit weekly for international students.
The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall, with no element lower than 5.5 or equivalent will be considered acceptable.
