General Eligibility

Degree requirements

A second-class honours degree or international equivalent.

Degree must include:

  • 40 SCQF credits from either politics or sociology. A further 40 SCQF credits from the subjects listed:

    • Economics

    • Criminology

    • Geography

    • History

    • International relations

    • Law (please note that the LLB/LLB Hons Law is not acceptable as it does not contain the appropriate range of subjects)

    • Politics (only where not used as first 40 SCQF credits) or Sociology (only where not used as first 40 SCQF credits)

    • Social policy

Maths & English

  • Higher (SCQF Level 6) English Grade C or above.

  • National 5 (SCQF Level 5) Mathematics Grade C or above.

Maths and English qualifications must be in place at the time of application.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
