Spatial planners create and manage sustainable cities and the countryside and help solve urban problems. This course focuses specifically on developing and enhancing your knowledge and critical understanding of the principles and practice of urban design to achieve sustainable cities and regions. You'll be able to suggest intervention strategies to improve the regeneration of declining places and cities. You will also develop your understanding of spatial analysis, statutory planning, property development processes, and sustainability in contemporary cities and sustainable urban design. Covid-19 is reframing the shape of our places. Planning can support that change and help us achieve a sustainable future. Planning expertise will be crucial in managing change in our built and natural environments and for the wellbeing of people.
An honors degree in Architecture, Economics, Geography, Engineering, or a related subject at lower second class or above Consideration will also be given to applicants with other academic backgrounds who explain clearly their motivation for undertaking the relevant MSc, outlining any relevant work experience
