Course Overview

If you want to make a difference in the world, the field of public health is a good place to start. Communities on a local, national and international scale all face health issues, and is equipped with the knowledge and practical skills needed to tackle these problems is hugely important. Our Master of Public Health course focuses on epidemiological and statistical concepts as well as understanding the principles, philosophy, and strategies underpinning health promotion that are applicable to public health practice and research around the globe. You'll learn how to design and carry out public health research, and develop the skills necessary to use, produce and interpret spatial epidemiology and disease mapping. You'll also learn about the underlying principles, theories, concepts, and practices of ethnography and its application to healthcare delivery and improvement.

General Eligibility

To be eligible to register for the MPH, students should normally hold a first-class or upper second class degree. Entry is normally restricted to graduates in medicine, dentistry, nursing and health-related sciences. Exceptionally, students are accepted without a first degree but in such instances, they should have professional qualifications and hold senior posts.
