With China's "Belt and Road Initiative", Chinese companies and those doing business with China have an increasing need for innovative and internationally educated graduates in the energy sector. This course will prepare you for working internationally in the energy and financial sectors. Your first year will be spent at the Chinese University of Petroleum Beijing (CUPB) and your second year will be at the University of Dundee. Learn about the multiple and complex challenges facing the energy industry, such as decarbonization, wide-scale digitization, and decentralization. You will learn to analyze, synthesize, and articulate concepts and practices relevant to the energy industry. You will understand the fundamental drivers of various energy markets, such as oil, gas, and electric power. You'll acquire foundational and contextual knowledge and skills in management, through classroom and work-based learning, and coaching from specialist academics or senior industry professionals.
You should have the equivalent to a UK Honours degree, preferably at 2:1 level or above. Candidates with a 2:2 degree may also apply. Preferred degree disciplines are Law, Economics, Geology, Petroleum or Mining Engineering, Finance. Work experience in the energy/natural resources industry is an advantage, though it is not a strict requirement. Applicants from CUPB must have 40 eligible credits of the CUPB MSc.
