Course Overview
The programme builds strong understanding of environmental systems, climate interactions, and ecosystem behaviour. Students gain hands-on experience through field studies, laboratory work, and data analysis tasks linked to real environmental conditions in Finland and other regions. Training includes environmental monitoring methods, modelling tools, and scientific reporting skills used in research and professional work.
The course has developed through strong academic work at the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, with collaboration between research groups and environmental organisations. Students take part in projects that connect science with environmental assessment and resource management practices. Graduates move into research roles, environmental consulting, policy support, and international organisations focused on environmental protection and sustainability planning. The programme continues to support academic growth and practical skill development across environmental science fields.
