Course Overview

Working in multi-disciplinary (creative and technical) teams through the development of computer games. BSc Games Development combines technology and creativity in a multidisciplinary way. The game industry continues to be an expanding and challenging sector with continually evolving ideas and cutting-edge technologies. This course covers the major technical aspects of the computer game development process from design to production. It aims to prepare students for a career in Game Industry with a particular emphasis on computer game development. The course provides students with a solid understanding of game technologies including programming, computer graphics, and game engines.

General Eligibility

  • A-levels: CCC-BBB 

  • T-levels: P (C+ in the Core) – M All subjects are accepted however we do recommend the T Level Digital Production, Design and Development for entry to this course.

  • Access to HE: 45 Credits at Merit – 24 Credits at Distinction & 21 at Merit 

  • CACHE Technical Level 3 and Level 3 Extended Diploma: C-B

  • OCR Cambridge Technical & Edexcel/Pearson BTEC Level 3 (National) Extended Diploma: MMM – DDM 

  • Scottish Highers: 96-120 UCAS Tariff Points preferably from 4 Highers

  • Irish LC Highers: 96-120 UCAS Tariff Points preferably from 4 Irish Leaving Certificate Highers

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • The IELTS score for international applicants is 6 (with no less than 5.5 in each component).
