Mental Health professionals need to continually seek ways to improve their career prospects in an increasingly competitive job market where a postgraduate qualification is often now deemed essential. The MSc in Psychiatry provides a highly relevant qualification for UK doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals working in specialist mental health settings, adding to your portfolio of qualifications and providing you with opportunities for professional development supported by expert clinicians and academics.

We provide access to part-time jobs, and extra-curricular employability-enhancing workshops and offer practical one-to-one help with career planning, including help with CVs, applications, and mock interviews. We also deliver group sessions on career planning within each course and we have a wide range of extensive information covering graduate jobs and postgraduate study.

Students and graduates of the University of Chester can use our services free of charge for up to two years after graduating.

General Eligibility

UK/EU students must primarily work in a mental health setting, have a minimum 2:2 honors degree classification in a health-related subject, and must be registered healthcare professionals. Applicants without a degree, but with substantial experience, may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
