Course Overview

The KBS PhD programme is designed to provide thorough training for research careers in academia or industry. Our students generally take up academic appointments in the UK or international higher education institutions or work in policy or industry settings.

General Eligibility

Applicants should hold a 2.1 at undergraduate level and a Merit at Master’s level in a relevant discipline, from a UK or other approved university and/or equivalent. You must submit a research proposal of approximately 1,500 words on your intended topic.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • IELTS (including IELTS Indicator) 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in R&W; 5.5 in S&L)

    TOEFL iBT 90 overall (with a minimum of 22 in R; 21 in W; 17 in L; 20 in S)
