Modern midwives do much more than assisting with the birth. They work closely with other healthcare professionals to support women throughout pregnancy and childbirth. Well help you develop into a competent midwife whos able to work as a team member or leader. Your time will be divided equally between classroom study and supervised placements. Youll learn to assess individual women and to plan, implement and evaluate care that meets the needs of mother, baby, and family. Youll recognize and respond to factors that affect the physical, emotional, and social well-being of mothers and babies, too. And youll build essential problem-solving skills while learning to work with professionals from a range of disciplines. 120 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of 3 A-Levels (or equivalent). 5 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above, including English, Maths, and Science.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
