BSc (Hons) Real Estate Surveying

... United Kingdom
... Edinburgh Napier University

Course Overview

This course combines real estate surveying with valuation, planning, and development. It studies how commercial and residential property markets work and draws upon the economics of the real estate sector to gain knowledge of how they develop and the determinants of value. It also examines how urban planning regulates property development and real estate value as investments.

During your studies, you’ll learn about all aspects of property valuation, investment, development, property law, and property management; This shall help develop various technical, communicative, and interpersonal skills invaluable to your future career as a Chartered Surveyor.

A career as a surveyor may suit you if you are interested in property and people and want a professional role with plenty of variety and prospects.

The Honours degree in Real Estate Surveying is fully accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and is certified under the Commercial, Residential, and Valuation pathways. Graduate prospects are excellent, and recent graduates have gone on to work for the likes of JLL, Shepherd Surveyors, Ryden, Savills, Avison Young (GVA), DM Hall, Cushman and Wakefield, Montagu Evans, Valuation Office Agency, Lothian Valuation Joint Board, and Taylor Wimpey Homes.
