Accredited by the Royal Society of Biology, this research-led course is ideal for careers in the medical and healthcare professions or laboratory science. It integrates scientific research and clinical skills to develop your understanding of the human body in health and disease. You will be taught by experienced, research-active academics and clinical experts who will present the latest advances in medicine and science, and study a range of topics, including Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Inflammation and Immunobiology, Cancer Therapeutics, and Nutrition Through the Lifespan. As the course progresses, you will be introduced to more advanced medical topics, and start to relate the understanding of normal healthy physiology with pathological processes.
GCSEs
Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including: English and Maths

A minimum of 120 points from 2 or more A levels, including one A level in either Biology, Chemistry or Human Biology at grade C/4 or above

Merit in Science (with optional module in Laboratory Science only)
BTEC
BTEC National Diploma Science - Distinction/ Distinction/ Merit, or
BTEC Extended Diploma Science - Distinction/ Distinction/ Merit
Access course
Pass QAA Accredited AHE (Science) with a minimum of 21 Level 3 credits at Distinction and 24 Level 3 credits at Merit from a Science subject (Chemistry/Biology).
English and Maths GCSE required at grade 4 (C) or above as separate qualifications
122 UCAS Tariff Access to HE Diploma ‘Science’ with Distinctions in science specific modules not in generic learning modules
We will normally require students to have had a break from full-time education before undertaking the Access course.
20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.
If English is not your first language an IELTS score of 6.5 overall is essential.
