The program aims to ensure that students are prepared to promote health and social well-being through the achievement of the standards of proficiency of specialist community public health nursing (NMC 2004) and adherence to The Code (NMC, 2018). Practitioners are challenged to consider the socio-economic, political, and professional factors that influence and reflect health care demands and provision. They are facilitated in developing their knowledge and skills to enhance the provision of health care, by applying appropriate theory, research and evidence, to reflect contemporary perspectives. Emphasis is placed upon acknowledging the multi-dimensional nature of human beings and providing health-promoting care through collaborative working.
If English is not your first language an IELTS score of 7 or equivalent when you start the course is essential. English language tuition, delivered by our British Council accredited Centre for English Language Learning (CELL), is available both before and during the course.
Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements may be offered support on an English language course prior to commencing the programme.
