German (Combined) BA (Hons)

... United Kingdom
... University of Chester (Warrington)

Course Overview

During the course, you will have the opportunity to develop your language and employability skills to a very high level, and develop excellent knowledge and understanding of Germany and other German-speaking countries. You can combine German and French or German and Spanish as Combined Honours subjects, or you can study two or three languages, including Chinese, through our BA Modern Languages. German at Chester provides a structured and supportive framework within which you move towards increasing independence. Introductory modules and modules in distinct thematic areas introduce you to theoretical concepts, and assessments help you to apply these concepts in increasingly challenging ways. Subsequent modules will deepen your understanding and you will undertake independent projects with the scope to pursue your own interests in the subject area. You have an opportunity to undertake a placement abroad at the end of Year 2 (Level 5). You will normally also have the opportunity to complete a semester or a full academic year in either Germany, Austria or Switzerland.
