Course Overview
The Bachelor of Arts and Design in XR Design gives students practical knowledge for one of the fastest-growing areas of digital media. The programme combines design, creative thinking, technology, and user-focused development through project work and industry cooperation. Students graduate with a portfolio that shows their technical and creative skills, making job applications stronger.
The degree prepares graduates for work in virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, digital product design, game development, simulation, education technology, healthcare solutions, architecture, marketing, and entertainment. General Eligibility
Applicants should have a recognised upper secondary qualification or another qualification that gives access to higher education. Admission usually includes an entrance examination or other selection method decided by the university.
Scholarships are available for eligible non-EU/EEA students who pay tuition fees. Metropolia offers Early Bird Scholarships and Academic Progress Scholarships based on payment deadlines and study performance. Applications are submitted through the national Studyinfo.fi admission system. Required documents usually include academic transcripts, certificates, passport identification, and proof of English language proficiency.
Part Time Work Details
International students may work up to 30 hours per week on average during academic terms under Finnish student residence permit rules. Full-time work is allowed during official holiday periods if permit conditions are met.
