Course Overview

The degree is designed to give students the opportunity to undertake a career in molecular life sciences, particularly at MSc and Ph.D. levels. Students will also be prepared for work in pharmaceutical companies or in biology/biochemistry laboratories thanks to the wide range of techniques covered in the program.

We also deliver group sessions on career planning within each course and we have a wide range of extensive information covering graduate jobs and postgraduate study.

Students and graduates of the University of Chester can use our services free of charge for up to two years after graduating.

112 UCAS points from GCE A Levels or equivalent, including GCE A Level Chemistry. Typical offer – BCC-BBC.

BTEC:

BTEC Extended Diploma (Applied Science): DMM; BTEC Diploma (Applied Science): D*D* - must include Chemistry units

Irish/Scottish Highers:

Irish Highers - H3, H3, H3, H3, H4 including H3 in Chemistry

Scottish Highers - BBBB including Chemistry

International Baccalaureate :

26 points, including 5 in HL Chemistry

Access requirements:

Access to HE (Science) Diploma, to include 45 credits at Level 3, 30 of which must be at Merit (12-15 in Chemistry)

Extra Information / General Entry Requirements:

A Level General Studies accepted; Welsh Baccalaureate accepted alongside A Levels/BTEC; OCR Diplomas also considered

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
