Course Overview

Amplify your love for music and intensify your technical skill as you pursue performance, composition, or music education. The Department of Music at UMass Amherst offers degrees in music performance and music study at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The department also offers extracurricular courses in music theory, jazz history, African American music, and American popular music. With programs in classical and jazz performance, music education, music composition, music history, and more alumni of these programs have the opportunity to pursue careers across the field of music, from teaching to performance.
