In years 1 and 2 you will study the core areas of psychological science while practising your research skills in the laboratories every week. The research our academic staff carry out informs the things you learn. Some of these topics include: Mental health and neurodiversity Trauma and the therapeutic relationship Cognitive neuroscience of language and memory Social interaction and political psychology Body image and bullying. In year 3 you will specialise in counselling psychology. You will learn about the theoretical foundations of different counselling approaches, including psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive behavioural modalities.
