What You'll Study

1 Course Modules

Regardless of your chosen programme of study, you will complete two core courses (ENERGY 721 and ENERGY 722) that provide overviews of the industry’s resource economics and technology issues. You will also be expected to complete a research component that requires working on a problem relevant to industry, which may cover economy, environmental, technical, or regulatory issues.

Taught option

Many students complete a 120 point programme, although an 180-point option is available and recommended for candidates with less experience in the energy field. In both cases, the MEnergy research project (ENERGY 785A&B), undertaken over two consecutive semesters, is seen as a single research project with one end product: your final report submission.

Research option

Approved candidates with ample research and/or work experience in the field may opt to complete a 90 point research thesis in place of the 45-point research project and three electives.
