Course Overview

Our Pre-Sessional English course is ideal if you are an international applicant and have an IELTS score between half a band and one-and-a-half bands lower (overall or in one or two elements) than the standard entry criteria for your target degree.

Our five-week course, which starts in late July or early August each year, is suitable if you have an IELTS score half a band lower (overall or in one or two elements).

Our 10-week course, which starts in June each year, is suitable if you have an IELTS score one band lower (overall or in one or two elements).

Our 20-week course, which starts in April each year, is suitable if you have an IELTS score one-and-a-half bands lower (overall or in one or two elements).

Whichever option is suitable for you, our Pre-Sessional English course will enhance your language and communication skills in English, provide you with the academic skills required for higher education study in the UK, build your confidence to feel ready for higher education study, and provide a full orientation to student life at Edge Hill University.

General Eligibility
