On the Psychology & Criminology course, you study the core Psychology modules alongside the related discipline of Criminology. Choose from a range of criminology and psychology optional modules, exploring issues such as violent and sexual offending, cybercrime, youth justice and the operation of the police and prison services. This provides you with the benefits of understanding perspectives from different disciplines on the same phenomena and provides you with a wide range of career options upon completion of the course. Graduates are involved in a range of roles related to law, order, crime and crime prevention. This includes the development and implementation of treatment programmes, modifying offender behaviour and improving the psychological wellbeing of prisoners and prison staff. They often provide the research evidence to support practice, conduct prisoner profiling and give evidence in court or at parole boards and mental health tribunals.
