Course Overview
The MSc Sustainable Food Systems programme focuses on how food is produced, processed, distributed, and consumed with attention to environmental and social factors. Students study food supply chains, policy frameworks, and resource use linked to agriculture and global food networks.
The course includes research-based learning and applied projects linked to food systems. Students work on assignments that examine real issues in food production, waste reduction, and sustainability practices. The teaching approach supports development of analytical skills, project planning, and subject knowledge related to food systems.
UWE Bristol maintains links with environmental organisations, food industry groups, and research bodies. These links give students exposure to current practices in food and sustainability sectors. Graduates can progress into roles within food policy, environmental consultancy, agriculture planning, food supply coordination, and related public or private sector positions.
