If you have an eye for detail, a head for finances and the drive to study for a hands-on career, working as a quantity surveyor will suit you perfectly. This course gives you the essential skills you need to work in the construction industry in this important role.
Quantity surveyors are the financial controllers of a construction project and are vital members of any construction team. The value engineering element of the role is often central to the survival of the company when it comes to ensuring the work is completed to the satisfaction of all parties in the contract; it meets all regulations and requirements; and it keeps within its budget.
In your first year of the course, you learn the core elements of quantity surveying such as measurement, surveying and management; regulations, cost, quality and inspection; and sustainable technologies. As you progress, you focus on putting learnt knowledge into practice, with an industry-standard approach to cost-effective production, technical skills and project development.
