Course Overview

Level pathways are designed to prepare you for higher education and beyond, be it a degree, research or a wide range of careers. In year one you will study the AS specification and take exams in May/June. If successful, you will progress to year two and complete the full A-level.

We support you in applying for masterclasses, Nuffield Science placements, and social mobility progression programmes with the University of Birmingham, as well as progression schemes for medicine and dentistry, which will enhance your applications to the university.

We are active in widening access to higher education and will enter you for Intermediate Biology Olympiad as well as actively encouraging you to pursue both virtual and face-to-face work experience. We have an in-house Aim Higher coordinator to provide opportunities such as tutoring to those who meet certain conditions.
