The course provides full-time intensive tuition in the English language and the academic English skills you will need for university study. A 10-week or 6-week course is available dependent on your English language level and the level required for your choice of study.
The approach taken in both courses is skills and task-based with the aim of equipping you with the academic English skills you will need for undergraduate or postgraduate study. You will also learn about British academic conventions and develop your ICT skills, such as how to use the university's Virtual Learning Environment, LibrarySearch, and Turnitin.
We view each student as an individual with individual learning needs and aims and seek to reflect this in the course structure. To this end, regular individual tutorials are scheduled to discuss your individual progress and concerns.
Entry level requirement for the 10-week Pre-sessional course: 5.0 overall with a minimum of 4.5 in all elements.
Entry level requirement for the 6-week Pre-sessional course: 5.5 overall with a minimum of 5.0 in all elements.
20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
IELTS: 5.0 overall with no element below 4.5
