Course Overview

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession that involves working with people to improve their own health and well-being. Learn to use physical approaches to promote, maintain and restore physical function in this Chartered Society of Physiotherapy-approved program.

As part of this course, you’ll:

Develop collaborative working skills, putting them into practice working with patients, their carers, and other health professionals

Be encouraged to reflect on practice to aid your professional development

Experience placements within a variety of health and social care settings. These could include the NHS, sports clubs, schools, and private clinics in specialist areas such as cardiovascular, respiratory, musculoskeletal, neurology, and pediatrics

You’ll have the chance to get involved with many volunteering activities, and we have partnerships with local and international charities. Plus, guest speakers from a range of clinical specialties will support your lectures and practical sessions.

General Eligibility

BTEC National Diploma:

136 points in an appropriate science award including Sports Science and Sports & Exercise Science.

Undergraduate Degree:

A minimum 2.2 honours degree in a science subject.

All applicants must demonstrate current study skills by means of successful academic study within the five years leading up to entry. If the main qualification was completed too long ago current study skills can be demonstrated by the appropriate science-based study.

Access to HE Diploma:

Pass overall with a minimum of 136 UCAS tariff points to include 30 distinctions in scientific subjects.

T Levels:

T Levels are not accepted for this course.

Scottish Awards:

136 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of 5 Highers of which at least 2 must be grade B or above to include 80 points in scientific subjects.

Irish Leaving Certificate:

136 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of 5 subjects at a higher level of which at least 3 must be grade H3 or above to include 80 points in scientific subjects.

International baccalaureate:

136 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of 3 Highers of which at least 2 must be grade H5 or above to include 80 points in scientific subjects.

Interview Required:

We conduct interviews as part of the admissions process and suitable applicants will be invited to an interview - interview dates will be published in due course. Invitations are sent via UCAS and you should check your UCAS Hub account for further interview details.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification.
