This course has exceptional industry links with local and international organizations and you will benefit from being taught in specialist studios and theatre spaces. You will be able to take advantage of opportunities at local, national, and international levels, using our links to give you access to recognized artists working in contemporary practices. Regular networking and work experience throughout the course will give you the confidence to take on exciting projects and approach people inside and outside the industry. In your third year, you'll be able to choose a placement that appeals to you. You could help run a festival, shadow a choreographer, take part in a teaching residency, or do something else that is of interest to you.
Independent study is a crucial part of learning at university and you will be required to undertake many hours of self-directed research and reading, and preparation and writing of assessments. Your course is delivered through a number of modules, which will help you to plan your time and establish a study routine. Outside of your lectures, workshops and tutorials, a range of support is available to assist with your independent study. Our subject-specific librarians will be on hand to direct you to specialist learning and study-skill resources. You’ll also be assigned an academic advisor to give you tailored feedback and support.
