Operating Department Practice with Foundation Year - BSc (Hons)

This four-year degree course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to work in operating department practice. Students will learn about the different types of anaesthesia, how to assess and monitor patients, and how to intervene during surgical procedures. The foundation year provides a comprehensive introduction to healthcare and the necessary skills for working in the NHS or private healthcare sector. Students on this course will have the opportunity to participate in clinical placements at various NHS Trusts and private healthcare facilities. They will also be able to attend simulation workshops where they can practice their skills in a realistic setting. Graduates of this course are eligible to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as operating department practitioners.
