The BSc (Hons) Professional Policing course at Bangor University is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to pursue a career in professional policing. The course covers a range of topics, including criminal justice systems, law enforcement, crime prevention and investigation, and community policing. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies and techniques used in modern policing, such as digital forensics and crowd control. Students will also have the opportunity to undertake a professional placement in a police force or related organization. Graduates of this course are eligible to apply for entry into the Police Forces in the UK.

Bangor University in partnership with Grŵp Llandrillo Menai is offering an undergraduate degree in Professional Policing, licensed by the College of Policing. The programme equips students with the right skills to adapt to the professional complexity of modern day policing including the changing nature of crime and demands on police services. This degree builds on experience from the highly successful Police Foundation Degree offered by Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and Bangor’s long standing Criminology and Criminal Justice degree programme. This courses is taught at different locations and draws on expertise in criminology and police procedure from both institutions.
Throughout the course students are provided with insight into current police practice as well as an understanding of research and theory in relation to the causes of crime and crime control. With this combination of knowledge on police procedure and academic insight into policing, graduates are able to pursue careers in the police as well as other parts of the security sector and other government agencies involved in policing.

The 20 hours is total hours. It is not per job. If you hold multiple part-time jobs then the total hours of all the work you are doing added together.
Year 1 will be delivered by Grŵp Llandrillo Menai. Students will be based in the Grŵp Llandrillo Menai campus, Rhos-on-Sea.
Year 2 will be delivered jointly between Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and Bangor University.
In Semester 1, 40 credits will be delivered in the Grŵp Llandrillo Menai campus, Rhos-on-Sea and 20 credits in Bangor
In Semester 2, 40 credits will be delivered in Bangor and 20 credits in the Grŵp Llandrillo Menai campus, Rhos-on-Sea.
Year 3 will be delivered by Bangor University. Students will be based at the main Bangor University campus, Bangor.

If you do not meet the English Language requirements to enter the International Incorporated Bachelors or the International Incorporated Masters, BUIC offers you a range of Pre-sessional English Programmes which you can take before you start these courses.
If you have an IELTS of 5.0 (with no component below 4.5), you will be offered a 6-week Pre-sessional English course immediately preceding your entry to the IYZ.
If you have an IELTS of 4.5 (with no component below 4.0), you will be offered a 12-week Pre-Sessional English course immediately preceding your entry to the IYZ.
