This two-year part-time DipHE in Operating Department Practice is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills required to work effectively in operating departments. The course covers a wide range of topics, including anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, patient assessment and care, and surgical procedures. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in practical placements in an operating theatre setting, gaining hands-on experience and developing their skills under the supervision of experienced healthcare professionals. Upon completion of the course, students will be eligible to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a perioperative practitioner.
