Course Overview

Our postgraduate courses offer a flexible and distinctive blended approach to acquiring a postgraduate qualification. The combination of onsite and online learning enables prospective students to study while remaining in the workplace, should they wish to do so.

The course offers participants practical, flood-relevant experience that provides a sound basis to seek or continue a career in the water and environmental sectors. Students gain experience by utilizing the latest technological innovations in the field of flood risk assessment, including augmented reality, simulations, 360 virtual tours, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and virtual reality.

This course supports careers in the flood, water, and environmental management sectors.

We are here to help you plan your future, make the most of your time at University, and to enhance your employability. We provide access to part-time jobs, and extra-curricular employability-enhancing workshops and offer practical one-to-one help with career planning, including help with CVs, applications, and mock interviews. We also deliver group sessions on career planning within each course and we have a wide range of extensive information covering graduate jobs and postgraduate study.

Students and graduates of the University of Chester can use our services free of charge for up to two years after graduating.

General Eligibility

A Bachelor’s degree (2:2 or higher) or international equivalent in environmental sciences, geography, geology, engineering, or allied disciplines, is required. Applicants with five or more years of work experience in water, flood, and/or environmental management may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
