Course Overview

The degree began in response to growing industry demand for professionals skilled in software systems and network design. Initial cohorts of 50 students expanded to over 600 active undergraduates. Milestones include securing university validation partnerships, adding industry certification preparation modules, and establishing links with regional IT employers. Practical lab sessions allow students to build working web services and administer live databases. Graduate tracking shows 94% of alumni enter employment or postgraduate study within six months of graduation.

General Eligibility

• 48–72 UCAS tariff points
• A Levels, BTEC Extended Diploma, or equivalent
• GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
• Mature students without formal qualifications may be considered based on work experience and an interview.

Language Requirement

• Applicants whose first language is not English must present valid test scores meeting one of the minimum standards below:

  • IELTS Academic: Overall 6.0 (Minimum 5.5 in each component)

  • TOEFL iBT: Overall 80 (Reading: 18, Listening: 17, Speaking: 20, Writing: 17)

  • PTE Academic: Overall 59 (Minimum 59 in each communicative skill)

  • Duolingo English Test: Overall 105 (Minimum 95 in sub-scores)
