Our History and International Relations course is a joint honours degree which will allow you to gain first-class exposure to both subject matters in equal measures. The historical component of our History and International Relations degree spans the period from 1600 to the present, focusing mostly on the modern era. Its subject matter includes Britain and mainland Europe, but also extends further afield to North America, the British Empire, Soviet Russia, South Asia and China. It begins with broad survey courses, proceeds with the history of individual countries or themes and culminates in specialist case studies. The International Relations component of our course enables you to understand how key global factors have responded to international political, economic and social challenges since the Second World War.
