Through language, we can transmit knowledge, and share stories with people from all corners of the globe. Our BA in Journalism and Modern Languages allow you to expand your multimedia skills whilst developing fluency in new languages.
Through the modern languages component of this course, you have the opportunity to choose from French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese. This is intertwined with the practical journalism aspect of this course; where you develop your skills in using multi-media channels such as radio, television, and online media and deepen your knowledge of journalism on an international scale You have the flexibility to choose the areas of the subject that most interest you and to explore global cultures alongside the native language.
UK entry requirements
A-levels: ABB, including one essay based subject
If Portuguese is taken as the major language, an A-level pass (or equivalent) in Italian, French, Spanish or Portuguese or first language level fluency in Italian, French, Romanian or Spanish is required.
BTEC: DDD, depending on subject studied - advice on acceptability can be provided.
IB: 32 points or three Higher Level certificates with 655, including a Higher Level essay based subject grade 5.
We are also happy to consider a combination of separate IB Diploma Programmes at both Higher and Standard Level. Exact offer levels will vary depending on the range of subjects being taken at higher and standard level, and the course applied for.
