The 120-credit hour Cognitive Science degree is a multidisciplinary field that brings together researchers and scholars to understand the nature of the human mind. Avila Cognitive Science majors learn how to ask questions, critically examine the evidence, and make decisions through the lenses of diverse disciplines. They are well-prepared for a wide variety of careers and graduate programs.
As part of the foundational requirements of the major, students must complete a capstone sequence of either reading an internship or a senior thesis. Students who complete a senior thesis will be eligible to receive an Honors degree in Cognitive Science. In addition, all students must complete electives across at least three disciplines.
