This course will allow you to top up your existing qualifications to an honours degree in one year while benefiting from all that Northumbria University and the city of Newcastle have to offer. Youll build on your all-around knowledge of business, adding expertise in international banking and finance as well as transferable professional and managerial techniques. The course includes specialist modules in financial forecasting, financial markets, investments, and risk management. Youll gain first-hand experience of financial markets through using our Bloomberg terminals and taking advantage of opportunities to build a track record and portfolio. The curriculum of the program is generally research-led, with the sophistication and depth of research used increasing over the course of the year until the final semester Contemporary Issues in the Business module. Your technical ability to research is also developed within the Academic and Career Development module. Youll be taught by experts from the banking, finance, and accounting industries, including professionally qualified finance staff. At Newcastle Business School we work with a large number of employers at local, national, and international levels enabling you to take advantage of graduate opportunities. Our dedicated Student Engagement Centre teams will provide ongoing support during the time you are looking for your graduate role, through to assessment day tips and CV support
BTEC HND/Foundation degree, or equivalent in a related subject. If you have taken a BTEC HND program, we will usually expect you to have performed to an average of merit standard. If you have taken a Foundation Degree, we will be looking for performance to commendation level, or 60% average.
