Course Overview

Clinical Laboratory Scientists are highly skilled professionals who are qualified by passing the national certification examination and licensed by NY State to work in several departments of a clinical laboratory including haematology, microbiology, immunohematology, chemistry, immunology and molecular diagnostics (CLS generalist). They play a key role in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and illnesses. Using sophisticated laboratory analyzers, CLS generalists perform tests and analyze cells, blood and other body fluids to detect abnormalities.
