The course combines the study of entrepreneurial theory with practical learning and problem-solving. You can pursue a pathway with optional research-based modules which explore different aspects of entrepreneurship, or you can follow a business start-up route and create your own company. The aim is to provide you with flexibility and choice. Following a common first year focusing on building the foundations for entrepreneurship, the second year provides for your choice of pathway, with the student enterprise route giving an optional route to apply your new leadership and management knowledge to establishing and managing your own business. If you prefer a more conventional approach, you can alternatively choose a route with specialist modules. Between your second and final year, youre encouraged to extend your horizons with an optional year out. This could be a work placement in an established business or further development of your own start-up (depending on your pathway), or the chance to gain international experience studying abroad. The course is covered by the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation for Newcastle Business School.
