The course will provide you with the opportunity to explore the diverse methodologies employed in the fields of biblical studies, eco-theology, theological ethics, and philosophy as they engage with todays environmental challenges. Tackling our varied human responses to the growing environmental crisis, this degree will enable you to work in a theology-led but necessarily interdisciplinary approach. You will gain critical, analytical, and research skills that will enable you to develop and interpret new knowledge in the broad field of ecological theology. The program is rooted in both the Western philosophical and Eastern and Western Christian traditions, but it is mindful of the contributions of other world faiths and indigenous belief systems, including First Peoples, Amerindians, and Aboriginals. You will take a compulsory placement module as part of the course, where you will develop your reflective practice first hand. The placement will be in a faith-based or secular organization that engages with ecological and environmental issues. You also have the option of using your current place of work, if it is in a relevant field, as your placement.
You should usually hold a second-class honors degree (certain programs may require a 2:1) from a recognized British or overseas university.
