Course Overview

On the PGDE Geography, you'll gain experience in these approaches and develop knowledge and understanding of the curriculum at different stages. An experienced geography specialist will give full support throughout the course to enhance your classroom practice. The system prepares you for a successful teaching career regardless of your chosen destination. 

General Eligibility

Degree requirements

An ordinary degree or international equivalent.

Degree must include:

  • At least 80 SCQF credits in geography. 

  • Degrees in geology, geosciences, earth science, or environmental science can qualify if there are 80 SCQF credits in human geography.

Maths & English

  • Higher (SCQF Level 6) English Grade C or above.

  • National 5 (SCQF Level 5) Mathematics Grade C or above.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

  • IELTS 6.5 (no individual test score below 5.5
