Course Overview

Study the science behind sport and exercise at Roehampton. You'll learn how to optimize athletic performance, prevent injuries, improve well-being and help athletes with recovery. Sport and Exercise Science is made up of three core disciplines: Physiology (the branch of biology that deals with how the body functions), Biomechanics (the study of the movement of the body and the forces that underpin movement), and Psychology (the study of the mind and behaviour). Our Sport and Exercise Sciences degree will give you an in-depth understanding of the application of these sciences to sport and exercise, as well as give you the opportunity to study other related topics including nutrition and health. Our enthusiastic tutors and state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment provide lively interactive ways to learn, ensuring you will have the best possible experience. We emphasize both theoretical and practical understanding across a range of disciplines, ensuring that our students have the subject knowledge, and an ability to apply knowledge appropriately along with employability skills to ensure they become quality graduates in a strong position to build careers in the sports & exercise industry or beyond.

General Eligibility

1. passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Level;

2. a pass in one subject at GCE Advanced Level plus (a) passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level, or (b) a Vocational A-Level Single Award, or (c) two Vocational A-Level part Awards;

3. a Vocational A-Level Double Award; or

4. a Vocational A-Level Single Award plus (a) two Vocational A-Level part Awards, or (b) passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level; or

5. a BTEC National Certificate or Diploma; or

6. a Scottish Certificate of Education with (a) passes in five subjects, including at least three at Higher grade, or (b) passes in four subjects all at Higher grade or New Higher grade; or

7. the full Diploma of the International Baccalaureate; or

8. an Irish Leaving Certificate with passes in four subjects at Grade C at the Higher level.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • 1. GCSE at Grade C or above. or

    2.IELTS 6.0 overall with a minimum 5.5 in each component
