Our French and Spanish BA is ideal for you if you have studied either or both French and Spanish to A-level, and wish to study both of those languages to a degree level while discovering and developing an understanding of the social, political, and cultural forces that have shaped contemporary France and the Francophone world, Spain, and Latin America. This course is suitable for students with an A-level in French and Spanish, as well as those who wish to take one of those languages from Beginners' level. The course is divided equally between both languages and you will reach an equivalent standard of knowledge and ability in both by the end of the course. Leicester is one of the top ten places in the UK to study Modern Languages (The Guardian University Guide 2020) and we rank high for student satisfaction in the annual National Student Survey.
A/AS-levels: AAB-ABB at A-level including French or Italian. Two AS-levels may be considered in place of one A-level. General Studies is accepted
IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If your first language is not English, you may need to provide evidence of your English language ability.
